FBI Mass Recruited Informants, Aimed To Buy Drugs, Infiltrate CHOP In 2020

The Federal Bureau of Investigation mass recruited confidential informants from a joint FBI and Seattle police unit to try and buy drugs and infiltrate Seattle’s 2020 Capitol Hill Organized Protest, also called the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, according to an email obtained by Real Change. The continued revelations concerning the FBI’s operations in 2020 come as President Trump has directed the FBI to investigate and disrupt potential crimes vaguely motivated by rhetoric deemed anti-American by the president.

My latest for Real Change was made possible through a legal settlement agreement I signed with the city of Seattle in June, obligating the city to disclose new records related to the FBI and other intelligence collection activities the SPD engaged in during the 2020 protests.
