Washington State Patrol Assisting DHS After Seattle Anti-ICE Protest
In June of 2025, hundreds of protesters marched from Capitol Hill to the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building in downtown Seattle to protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
HardPressed previously reported that the Seattle Police Department ordered use of force against "Antifa" during the protest. The Guardian has since reported that the FBI Seattle Division opened a domestic terrorism investigation in response to "observed threats against immigration enforcement activity."
A new document obtained by HardPressed shows that the Washington State Patrol is also assisting the Department of Homeland Security in an attempt to identify someone five days after the protests at the Jackson Federal Building.
Two blocks up the hill, on the fifth floor of the FBI Seattle Field Office, the Washington State Fusion Center (WSFC) released a bulletin to at least 2,255 people in law enforcement and private business.
The heavily redacted bulletin was sent by the WSFC "on behalf of the Federal Protective Service" and states that there is probable cause to arrest an unknown person alleged to have committed acts that are redacted.
Minutes after after the bulletin was sent out, it was corrected in a follow up email, and the next day it was canceled "on behalf of the Federal Protective Service" according to another WSFC email obtained by HardPressed. The reason why the bulletin was corrected and then canceled are not indicated in the follow up emails.

However, the redaction codes invoked by the Washington State Patrol indicate the bulletin still involves an active ongoing criminal investigation and "Intelligence information; non-disclosure essential to effective law enforcement."
The WSFC is located within the FBI Seattle Field Office, however it is operated by the Washington State Patrol. It has a history of monitoring protests and was established explicitly to "mitigate the effects of civil disobedience or rioting" among other goals.
